Celebrities, they’re just like us!
Erin Napier recently revealed her “irrational fear,” and we have a feeling she’s not alone.
The truth came out while Erin was removing an exterior shutter during the premiere of the second half of Home Town season seven Sunday. She and husband Ben were in the midst of renovating a house in Laurel for a family from Canada when she yanked off the shutter to reveal a lizard lurking underneath.
“I really didn’t expect to find anything,” Erin said as she recovered from the fright. “That was upsetting. I hate them.”
“Horrified by lizards. I know it doesn’t make sense,” she explained later. “To me, lizards and snakes are the exact same thing.”
Ben chimed in to ask her thoughts on frogs. Erin replied that she feels similarly about them.
“She thinks of frogs and lizards as snakes with legs,” Ben noted.
“This is my irrational fear,” Erin added. “I get scared of a lizard and someone thinks ‘Well, this is funny’ and they get the lizard and try to put it on me and then I would die.”
The Napiers told USA Today that the remainder of season seven includes some of their “best episodes ever,” like their biggest renovation to date: a 5,000-square-foot downtown loft.
“But our favorite episode is the one (that’s) our origin story, our love story, where we met” at Jones College, Erin told the outlet. That one is scheduled to air on January 21.
Stay tuned for more unforgettable (and hopefully lizard-free) renovations this season!
