Wall falls on construction workers at Cape Cod job site

Two construction workers suffered traumatic injuries Friday when a wall fell on them at a Cape Cod, Massachusetts, construction site.The wall collapsed while it was being raised at approximately 2:30 p.m., Falmouth Fire Chief Timothy Smith said in a statement. One Boston MedFlight helicopter was immediately requested and a second was called after the first Firefighters and EMS to arrive determined that two people were seriously injured. Sky5 flew over the construction site on Brick Kiln Road in Falmouth, where it saw that part of a wall appeared to have fallen inward onto the ground floor.Police were seen hanging a ring of yellow crime scene tape around the property. Signage in the area shows the project will create a cul-de-sac neighborhood with more than two dozen homes.Both of the workers were taken to area trauma centers, Smith said. Their conditions were not immediately available.Smith said the incident was being investigated by Falmouth Inspectional Services along with Falmouth police and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
